Joseph Szigeti (1892-1973), was one of the outstanding violinists of the 20th century. Born and trained in Hungary, he eventually settled in the United States and became an American citizen. His playing was noted more for its probing musicianship than beautiful tone and he was a major inspiration for contemporary composers such as Bartók, Berg, Mihaud, Ravel and Stravinsky, whom he performed and promoted. His celebrated transcriptions and arrangements reflect his catholic and wide-ranging interests and this collection, devised by Eric Wen, contains many of the best of them including: Concerto in D Minor (Tartini), Passepied from Castor et Pollux (Rameau), Danse de Meunier (Miller's Dance) from The Three Cornered Hat (da Falla) and four excerpts from the Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock. 조셉 시게티(1892-1973)는 20세기를 대표하는 뛰어난 바이올리니스트 중 한 명입니다. 헝가리에서 태어나 교육을 받은 그는 미국에 정착하여 미국 시민권을 취득했습니다. 그의 연주는 아름다운 음색보다는 깊이 있는 음악성으로 유명했으며, 바르톡, 베르크, 미하우, 라벨, 스트라빈스키 등 동시대 작곡가들에게 큰 영감을 주었고, 그들의 작품을 연주하고 널리 알리는 데 기여했습니다. 그의 유명한 편곡 작품들은 폭넓고 다양한 음악적 관심사를 반영하며, 에릭 웬이 기획한 이 악보집에는 그의 대표작들이 다수 수록되어 있습니다. 타르티니의 D단조 바이올린 협주곡, 라모의 오페라 《카스토르와 폴룩스》 중 파스피에, 다 팔라의 오페라 《세 개의 모자》 중 방앗간 주인의 춤, 그리고 피터 워록의 《카프리올 모음곡》 중 네 곡의 발췌곡이 포함되어 있습니다.
