Majestic piece

This composition is a setting by Rebecca Clarke of a tune attributed to Thomas Tallis, which deftly uses 20th century counterpoint to provide a new experience with the old tune. Clarke was a violist, so the setting is idiomatic and skillful for the instrument. The viola and piano parts individually do not necessarily impress, but assembled they create a fine and moving piece.
