The Moldau is Smetana's most famous and most popular composition. The adaptation presented here is restricted to the essential contrasting motifs. On account of the original arrangement for flutes, the beginning takes up a lot of space as it symbolizes how the two rivers rise and meet. Many flutists who love the piece but do not have the chance to play it in an orchestra even once will benefit from the possibility of a chamber music edition. It is of intermediate difficulty and also well-suited as an encore.
