Sevcik Cello Op.3 - Studies 40 Variations for Cello Solo
Ševcík's opus 3 which concentrates mainly on the use of the bouncing bow in violin playing, builds on the systematic development of bowing technique which the composer had already focused on in his previous opus 2 – School of Bowing Technique. In a compact and highly effective form, the “Forty Variations” cover a wide sequence of movements for the right arm ranging from elementary to virtuosic.
In his arrangement for violoncello, Tomáš Jamník stays true to Ševcík’s methodical intention by not mechanically transposing the original violin version, but rather ensuring an adequate adaptation to the positions of the violoncello. Thus, these short variations now become a valuable pedagogical work for cellists while also serving as virtuosic compositions for concert performances.
셰브치크의 작품 3번은 바이올린 연주에서 활을 튕기는 기법에 주로 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 작곡가가 이전 작품 2번인 '활 기법 학교'에서 이미 집중했던 체계적인 활 기법 발전을 기반으로 합니다. 간결하면서도 매우 효과적인 형식의 "40개의 변주곡"은 기초적인 단계부터 기교적인 단계까지 오른팔을 사용하는 다양한 움직임을 아우릅니다.
토마시 얌니크는 첼로 편곡에서 셰브치크의 의도를 충실히 따르면서 원곡 바이올린 버전을 기계적으로 이조하는 대신 첼로의 포지션에 맞게 적절히 변형했습니다. 이로써 이 짧은 변주곡들은 첼리스트들에게 귀중한 교육 자료가 되는 동시에 연주회에서 기교적인 작품으로 활용될 수 있게 되었습니다.
