Composed between 1973 and 1976, Ainsi La Nuit for a String Quartet is one of the most important works of its genre, byHenri Dutilleux (1916-2013), a French composer.

This scoreof Ainsi La Nuit is the conductor's score, with the four instruments altogether. The score for each individual instrument can be bought separately.

Commissioned by the KoussevitzkyFoundation for the Juilliard Quartet, Ainsi La Nuit is based on a series of studies, lasts 18 minutes and is divided into 7 sections:

Built on single hexachords, it also use the octatonic mode and focus on harmonies, contrasts and oppositions ofregister.

Henri Dutilleux was internationally acclaimed for his work winning prizes such as the Gold Medal of the Royal Philharmonic Society and the UNESCO's International Rostrum of Composers,among many others. His work also includes a Piano sonata, two symphonies, the Violin concerto 'L'arbre des songes' (The tree of dreams) and the Cello concerto 'Tout un monde lointain' (A whole distant word).

쿠세비츠키 재단의 의뢰로 줄리아드 사중주단을 위해 작곡된 《Ainsi La Nuit》는 일련의 연습곡을 바탕으로 하며, 연주 시간은 18분이고 다음과 같은 7개의 악장으로 구성됩니다.

앙리 뒤티외는 왕립 필하모닉 협회 금메달과 유네스코 국제 작곡가상 등 수많은 상을 수상하며 국제적으로 명성을 떨쳤습니다. 그의 작품으로는 피아노 소나타, 두 개의 교향곡, 바이올린 협주곡 '꿈의 나무'(L'arbre des songes), 첼로 협주곡 '멀리 떨어진 세상'(Tout un monde lointain) 등이 있습니다.
