파보 예르비의 냉철하고 직관적인 지휘봉과 신시내티 심포니의 현대적인 사운드는 예상대로 라벨의 음악과 찰떡궁함을 선보인다. 새벽이 밝아오는 다프니스와 클로에 모음곡의 도입에서 예르비와 그의 악단은 서서히 대지의 잠을 깨우며 신비스럽과 환상적은 분위기를 북돋는다. "어미 거위"의 단아한 풍모와 고전적인 조형미도 훌륭하다 하지만 무엇보다 예르비의 진가는 라발스와 볼레로에서 더 확연히 느낄 수 있다. 전자의 피날레에서 3박자의 소용돌이와 음의 향연, 후자의 끈기있는 크레센도와 탄탄 점층적 구조는 가히 압도적이다.
