Chabrier was heralded by the young generation of composers in France, particularly by Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc, as the founder of the French Modern. He achieved resounding success with his orchestra rhapsody “España” upon returning from his trip to Spain. Riding on this success, he composed the „Habanera“ in 1885 which was met with equal enthusiasm. The piece was soon circulated in various arrangements. Chabrier himself transcribed the piece for orchestra in 1889.


Bärenreiter is publishing the original version for piano for the first time in a scholarly-critical urtext edition offering the musical text newly engraved and editorially prepared on the basis of all availabe sources with extensive Critical Commentary. This striking piece is ideal for teaching purposes and includes fingering by Tamara Stefanovich as well as a well-presented layout with optimum page turns.



Tamara Stefanovich

studied at the University of Belgrade, at the Curtis Institute of Music and at the “Hochschule für Musik und Tanz” in Cologne. Working alongside conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Pierre Boulez and Vladimir Jurowski, she has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra. For Bärenreiter she has already prepared fingering for the Urtext edition of Claude Debussy’s “Images” (“1re srie”: BA 10821, “2e srie”: BA 10822).


샤브리에는 드뷔시, 라벨, 풀랑크를 비롯한 프랑스의 젊은 작곡가 세대로부터 프랑스 현대 음악의 창시자로 극찬을 받았습니다. 스페인 여행에서 돌아온 그는 관현악 랩소디 "에스파냐"로 엄청난 성공을 거두었습니다. 이 성공에 힘입어 1885년 "하바네라"를 작곡했고, 이 작품 역시 열렬한 호응을 얻었습니다. 이 작품은 곧 다양한 편곡으로 유포되었고, 샤브리에는 1889년 직접 관현악곡을 편곡했습니다.


베렌라이터는 피아노곡 원문을 학술 비평 원문으로 최초로 출판하여, 모든 자료를 바탕으로 새롭게 각색하고 편집하여 풍부한 비평을 담은 악보를 제공합니다. 이 인상적인 작품은 교육용으로 이상적이며, 타마라 스테파노비치의 운지법과 최적의 페이지 넘김을 고려한 세련된 구성을 자랑합니다.


타마라 스테파노비치는 베오그라드 대학교, 커티스 음악원, 그리고 쾰른 음악 및 무용 전문학교(Hochschule für Musik und Tanz)에서 수학했습니다. 에사-페카 살로넨, 피에르 불레즈, 블라디미르 유로프스키 등의 지휘자들과 함께 클리블랜드 오케스트라, 시카고 심포니 오케스트라, 런던 필하모닉 오케스트라와 협연했습니다. 베렌라이터(Bärenreiter)를 위해 클로드 드뷔시의 "이미지"(Urtext) 원전 악보를 위한 운지법을 이미 연습했습니다
