Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) composed the Phantasy Quintet as the result of a commission by Walter Wilson Cobbett, an enthusiast of Elizabethan music. The quintet derives its title from the instrumental fantasy which proliferates during that period of English music history. The London String Quartet, with the addition of violist James Lockyer, gave the first performance on March 23, 1914.


랄프 본 윌리엄스(1872-1958)는 엘리자베스 시대 음악 애호가였던 월터 윌슨 코벳의 의뢰로 환상곡 5중주를 작곡했습니다. 이 5중주곡의 제목은 당시 영국 음악사에 널리 퍼졌던 기악적 환상곡에서 유래했습니다. 런던 현악 4중주는 비올리스트 제임스 로키어를 영입하여 1914년 3월 23일 초연했습니다.
