We hereby present you with a collection of works for violin and piano designed to be played in primary schools of music. They can be played both with a teacher-accompanist and also in chamber ensembles.
The compositions vary in terms of form, expression and difficulty. They are all marked by a unique character. Some of them display complicated design, melody and texture (Dzień na wsi [A day in the country], Na karuzeli [On the merry-go-round]), while others are dominated by cantilena (Kotek Tęsknotek [Wistful kittie]) or dance (Taniec Przeplataniec [Intertwining dance]). The collection also includes miniatures inspired by jazz (Detektyw Wiolinko [Detective Fiddle] Wesoły Franiu [Merry Frank]) and also music of the Far East (Melodia japońska [Japanese melody]).
The violin part is prepared in such a way that each of the works – besides musical fun – constitutes excellent material for mastering specific aspects of violin technique, with agile bowing to the fore, but other elements also explored, such as double stops, harmonics, glissando, position shifts and different articulation.
