쿠르탁 M. K.의 음악 수첩 (팩시밀리)
M. K.의 의미: 작곡가 죄르지 쿠르탁(György Kurtág)이 그의 평생의 동반자이자 아내인 피아니스트 마르타 쿠르탁(Márta Kurtág)을 위해 작성하고 지속적으로 피아노 소품들을 수록해 온 음악 공책입니다.
Facsimile (자필 영인본): 인쇄용 체제로 새롭게 조판된 일반 악보가 아닌, 작곡가가 직접 손으로 적은 자필 악보(Autograph Manuscript)의 형태 및 필체를 있는 그대로 복사·출판한 판본을 뜻합니다.
I started to compose my piano pieces called Games in 1973. Until 1979, the publication of the first four volumes, these works existed only as manuscripts, on sheets of music paper. However, in 1974, I started two large music notebooks with grey covers in which I collected my favourite pieces for the two people who played a special role in my life. One of the notebooks was Zoltán Kocsis's, who, from then on, always played my piano pieces from it, and he gave it back to me from time to time over the following 32 years (sometimes at my request) so that I could write more pieces into it. I might even say that Zoli Kocsis's Manuscript Book is a document of our friendship and mutual respect.
The notebook I gave Márta, which I also continually added to, meant something else to me. When I wrote the words ''K. M. hangjegy koenyvetskéje'' (M. K.'s Music Notebook) on the title page, I thought about the ''Notenbüchlein'' that Johann Sebastian Bach compiled for his beloved wife, Anna Magdalena Bach.
저는 1973년에 '게임(Games)'이라는 제목의 피아노 곡들을 작곡하기 시작했습니다. 이 곡들은 첫 네 권의 악보집이 출판된 1979년까지는 오직 악보 용지에 적힌 자필 원고 상태로만 존재했습니다. 하지만 1974년, 저는 회색 표지의 커다란 음악용 공책 두 권을 마련하여 제 인생에서 특별한 의미를 지닌 두 사람을 위해 제가 가장 아끼는 곡들을 그 안에 모아두기 시작했습니다. 그중 한 권은 졸탄 코치시(Zoltán Kocsis)의 것이었습니다. 그는 그때부터 항상 이 공책에 담긴 제 피아노 곡들을 연주했고, 제가 새로운 곡을 추가할 수 있도록 지난 32년 동안 때때로(때로는 제 요청에 따라) 저에게 다시 돌려주곤 했습니다. 졸리 코치시(Zoli Kocsis)의 이 자필 악보 공책은 우리 두 사람의 우정과 상호 존중을 보여주는 기록이라고도 할 수 있을 것입니다.
마르타(Márta)에게 주었던 공책 또한 저에게는 또 다른 특별한 의미가 있었습니다. 표지에 'K. M. hangjegy koenyvetskéje(M. K.의 음악 공책)'라는 문구를 적어 넣을 때, 저는 요한 세바스찬 바흐가 사랑하는 아내 안나 막달레나 바흐를 위해 엮었던 '노텐뷔흘라인(Notenbüchlein, 작은 악보집)'을 떠올렸습니다.
This notebook is our joint work, and it holds the memories and outcomes of the strength and inspiration I received from Márta, strength and inspiration that are so important to me. [...] I look at the pages, their corners worn and their edges ragged from being thumbed through, and the memories return of our practising together, rehearsals, recitals, our beautiful and eventful life we spent full of music. In Márta's meticulously written fingerings, in my hasty performance instructions and remarks, I can again hear her playing, her voice, our arguments, our struggles - the 74 years we lived together.
이 악보는 우리의 공동 작업의 산물이며, 내게 더없이 소중한 존재인 마르타(Márta)에게서 얻은 힘과 영감, 그리고 그로부터 비롯된 추억과 결실이 고스란히 담겨 있습니다. [...] 잦은 손길로 모서리가 닳고 가장자리가 해어진 악보의 페이지들을 들여다보면, 함께 연습하고 리허설하며 연주회를 가졌던 기억, 그리고 음악으로 가득 채웠던 우리의 아름답고도 다사다난했던 삶의 순간들이 다시금 떠오릅니다. 마르타가 꼼꼼하게 적어 넣은 운지법과 내가 급하게 남긴 연주 지시 및 메모 속에서, 나는 그녀의 연주와 목소리, 그리고 우리가 함께했던 74년의 세월 동안 겪었던 논쟁과 고군분투의 순간들을 다시금 마주하게 됩니다.

The facsimile publication of the notebook was released on the 100th birthday of György Kurtág in limited number of copies, featuring a foreword by the composer and an accompanying essay by Tünde Mózes-Szitha.
죄르지 쿠르탁(György Kurtág)의 100번째 생일을 기념하기 위해 한정판으로 인쇄된 노트북의 복사본이 출시되었으며, 작곡가의 서문과 툰데 모제스-시타(Tünde Mózes-Szitha)의 에세이가 포함되어 있습니다.
