realisation for string septet - 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos and double bass

Editor:Leopold, Rudolf

Strauss original thoughts on Metamorphosen came to light when a short score was discovered in 1990, suggesting that the piece was originally conceived as scored for seven strings. This realisation for string septet has been made by Rudolf Leopold and has been toured internationally and recently recorded by EMI.
