Offenbach Introduction, Priere et Bolero Op.22 for Cello and Piano

This revised edition is based on the original publication by Schlesinger. The pieces are taken from the suite ?Grande Scene espagnole pour violoncelle“ accompanied by a string sextet or a string orchestra. As Offenbach himself played the violoncello, too, he wrote a series of compositions for this instrument between 1838 and 1853 which he loved to perform together with his friend, piano player and composer Friedrich von Flotow, in various Parisian salons.
