A beautiful piece full of complex harmonies

Graceful Ghost Rag is great piece - here's an example of what a talented composer can do even if working within the constraints of a form which is commonly considered, er, less than profound. The melody is certainly nice; what stands out, however, is the harmony. It's beautiful, complex, slightly neo-tonal, but never really dissonant to the point of repelling a person whose musical preferences are firmly anchored within a traditional tonal system.This piece may not be for a beginner but if one has sufficient technical facilities to handle it the musical reward will be immense. Strongly recommended.

복잡하면서도 아름다운 화음으로 가득한 곡

'우아한 유령의 래그'는 훌륭한 작품입니다. 재능 있는 작곡가가 흔히 그다지 심오하지 않다고 여겨지는 형식의 제약 속에서도 무엇을 해낼 수 있는지 보여주는 좋은 예입니다. 멜로디도 물론 좋지만, 무엇보다 돋보이는 것은 화음입니다. 아름답고 복잡하며, 약간 네오토널적인 느낌을 주지만, 전통적인 조성 음악에 익숙한 사람도 거부감을 느낄 정도로 불협화음적이지는 않습니다. 이 곡은 초보자에게는 다소 어려울 수 있지만, 충분한 연주 실력을 갖춘 사람이라면 엄청난 음악적 만족감을 얻을 수 있을 것입니다. 강력 추천합니다

Most appealing piece Ive heard in along time. Greatly enjoying learning it. The harmonies are divine as well as the rhythm.

오랜만에 들어본 가장 매력적인 곡입니다. 배우는 과정이 너무 즐거워요. 화음도 리듬도 정말 아름답습니다.


A piece that grows on you

I have been working on this piece on and off for over 2 years. The middle section is harder than the first. The last section is a reprisal of the first section. I'm not really a fan of ragtime piano - to listen or play - but this piece is unusual. It's a beautiful, intimate rag with a lot of challenging stuff. The rag can be played in straight time or swing. I would rate this harder than a Level 8. I've seen it rated by RCM as a Level 10.

들으면 들을수록 매력이 느껴지는 곡

이 곡을 2년 넘게 띄엄띄엄 작업해 왔습니다. 중간 부분이 처음보다 더 어렵습니다. 마지막 부분은 처음 부분을 반복하는 형태입니다. 저는 래그타임 피아노를 즐겨 듣는 편은 아니지만, 이 곡은 특별합니다. 아름답고 감미로운 래그타임 곡으로, 연주하기 어려운 부분도 많습니다. 정박 또는 스윙 리듬으로 연주할 수 있습니다. 제 생각에는 난이도 8보다 더 어렵습니다. RCM에서는 10으로 평가하는 것을 본 적이 있습니다.
